Important Update on Rent-To-Own Policy for Custom Portable Buildings at Elevate Sheds

Elevate Sheds is committed to providing South Texas customers with affordable, high-quality portable buildings through flexible financing options. Starting May 1, 2026, Premier Portable Buildings, our trusted partner, is updating its Rent-To-Own policy for custom portable buildings. This change aims to balance customer flexibility with responsible management of custom orders, ensuring Rent-To-Own remains a viable option for many.

This announcement explains what is changing, why the update is necessary, which custom upgrades now require upfront payment, and how these changes protect your interests while keeping financing accessible.

What is Changing in the Rent-To-Own Policy

Premier Portable Buildings will continue to offer Rent-To-Own financing on custom portable buildings, including sheds, cabins, garages, and other structures. However, certain custom upgrades and specialty modifications will now require upfront payment rather than being included in the Rent-To-Own plan.

Specifically, the following options will no longer be financed through Rent-To-Own and must be paid in full at the time of order:

  • Studded walls

  • Electrical upgrades beyond Premier’s standard package

  • Cutouts and custom modifications

Customers will still be able to select standard Rent-To-Own options for their buildings, but these specialized customizations will require immediate payment.

Why the Policy is Changing

Managing custom orders with Rent-To-Own financing presents challenges. Custom upgrades often involve additional materials, labor, and planning that increase costs and risk for Premier Portable Buildings. When these upgrades are financed over time, it becomes difficult to manage cancellations or changes without financial loss.

By requiring upfront payment for specific custom options, Premier can:

  • Ensure resources are allocated efficiently for custom work

  • Reduce financial risk associated with order cancellations or modifications

  • Maintain affordable Rent-To-Own options for the majority of customers

This change supports responsible order management and helps keep Rent-To-Own financing available for a wide range of customers in South Texas.

Which Upgrades and Options Require Upfront Payment

The following custom upgrades now require full payment at the time of order:

  • Studded walls: These walls provide extra strength and insulation but require special materials and construction.

  • Electrical upgrades beyond the standard package: Any electrical work that exceeds Premier’s basic offering, such as additional outlets, lighting, or wiring.

  • Cutouts and custom modifications: Custom door/window cutouts, shelving, or other modifications that deviate from standard building designs.

These options involve specialized labor and materials that cannot be easily reversed or repurposed if the order changes or cancels.

The 48-Hour Refund and Cancellation Window

To protect customers, Premier Portable Buildings offers a 48-hour window after finalizing an order during which changes or cancellations can be made with a full refund on payments for custom upgrades.

This means:

  • Customers can review their order carefully and request modifications or cancel within 48 hours.

  • Payments made for studded walls, electrical upgrades, and custom modifications are fully refundable during this period.

  • After 48 hours, payments for these custom options become non-refundable.

This policy gives customers time to confirm their choices while allowing Premier to begin production planning with confidence.

What Happens After 48 Hours

Once the 48-hour window closes:

  • Payments for custom upgrades become non-refundable.

  • Changes or cancellations involving these upgrades may not be possible or may incur additional fees.

  • Standard Rent-To-Own options remain flexible and can still be adjusted according to the original policy.

This approach balances customer flexibility with the realities of managing custom orders that require upfront investment.

How This Helps Keep Rent-To-Own Available for Customers

By requiring upfront payment for certain custom upgrades, Premier Portable Buildings and Elevate Sheds can:

  • Avoid financial losses from canceled or changed custom orders

  • Allocate resources more effectively to build quality custom portable buildings

  • Continue offering affordable Rent-To-Own financing on standard and many custom options

  • Provide clear expectations and protections for customers regarding custom work

This policy update supports the long-term availability of Rent-To-Own sheds in Texas, including South Texas sheds and custom cabins, helping more customers access portable building financing that fits their needs.
